Former Gucci designer Tom Ford is making his directorial debut this year. He's putting the final touches on his adaptation of Christopher Isherwood's 1964 novel, A Single Man.

The cast looks to be set in place, with Colin Firth starring as a gay college professor who has to deal with the sudden death of his partner. He then seeks help from a female friend, played by Julianne Moore, and one of his students, Jamie Bell.

The story takes place in Los Angeles in 1962. Sources say Ford will use his fashion sense to create a very 60s feel to the film, with the old cars and mid-century homes. We never knew he had it in him!
Don't MISS out on Breaking News!

Calling all models, supermodels, fashion icons, and celebrities: Tom Ford is looking for a baby mama!!

Fashion guru Tom Ford and his long-term partner Richard Buckley are looking for a baby carrier--literally! They need someone to have a baby for them. Any takers?

He says, "I'm going to have a kid in 2008. Richard knows I've wanted this for a long time. He's just resisted it. He would be a spectacular father.

"It's going to give his life new meaning. It will be biologically mine. I mean, I'm a lot younger. If things follow their natural order, (Richard will) probably leave the planet ahead of me, and I can't not have had something I've wanted forever.

"I've always wanted kids. I don't want to get to be 75-years-old and just have made a lot of dresses, done some houses."

Forcing your partner to have a baby isn't always a great idea, but Tom Ford can do or say anything. He's the God of Fashion. We would gladly have his children for him!

Jenny from the block was back in NYC as she was honored last night for her design work for her clothing and accessory line JLo.

The 10th annual ACE awards took place last night at Cipriani where Jennifer Lopez caused a media frenzy in a white strap-less mini and was joined by her accessory hubby Marc Anthony. I gotta admit Jennifer looked muy caliente! Jennifer revealed to a People magazine reporter last night that Marc was the “sexiest man” for the Latin diva.

Also at the event was Hollyscoop’s fashion icon Tom Ford, Naomi Watts, Bridget Moynahan, Zac Posen, Michael Kors and Rachel Zoe. Jennifer also brought her mother to the special night.

Avril Lavigne looks amazing in these Tom Ford photos. She's was quite the regular during New York Fashion week recently, and she appears to be cleaning up her 'grunge punk' look...we actually like her now. What can I say?...Tom Ford is a genius!

The genius that is Tom Ford got Hollywood's hottest stars, made them take their clothes off, and had them photographed. This months Vanity Fair has to be one of the best issues they've had in years.

Tom Ford speaks about the "New Hollywood" and his Vanity Fair 2006 Porfolio :: What is New Hollywood? "Every few years there is a cultural shift that can't be ignored. Perhaps our standard of beauty changes. Perhaps our collective mood changes. Perhaps we just become bored, and the faces that defined our time don't fascinate us any longer. Perhaps we just don't care anymore about a particular male star's self-conscious high jinks. Perhaps a reigning actress has overexposed herself with too many advertising campaigns and used up her quota of face time in our collective mind, clearing the way for new light"
