Tom Cruise Was Never Signed On For Edwin A. Salt

Earlier this week Variety reported that Angelina Jolie was going to replace Tom Cruise as a CIA agent in the upcoming thriller Edwin A. Salt.

A source close to Tom's camp tells Hollyscoop exclusively that "Tom passed on this project over a month ago. He was never signed on to do it."

Tom already has 3 other movies in the works, including Men, The Hardy Men, and Valkyrie.

Valkyrie started to make headlines when the release date was pushed back, but “reactions were through the roof” during a pre-screening of the movie in Las Vegas. "It's a brilliant movie," added the source.

Valkyrie opens nationwide on December 26, 2008.
