Tom Cruise hasn’t outgrown his Mission: Impossible role quite yet! The actor is reportedly on board for the fourth installment of the franchise, which is being slated for Memorial Day 2011.
According to a press release by Paramount, Cruise is working with J.J. Abrams to find a director for the follow-up film. Seeing Cruise and the studio work together comes as a bit of a surprise, since the production cut ties with Tom in 2006, the year "Mission: Impossible III" was released. But both parties have recognized the promise in continuing a franchise that has grossed $1.4 billion worldwide.
Paramount Pictures Chairman & CEO Brad Grey said in a statement, “Tom and J.J. are great talents and we are excited to be working with them to re-launch this legendary franchise.”
Looks like Tom has been bus working on his stunts lately, so he’d better keep it up for this film, because he’s not getting any younger!
