Tom Cruise surprised people yesterday as he dined with Viacom chairman Sumner Redstone, who fired Tom after he thought he was acting a little too cuckoo. The two have barely even spoken a single word to each other for almost two years, so this meeting has gotten some wheels turning in people's heads.
Neither of their reps have commented, but Tom may be wanting to renew the Mission: Impossible movies, which Paramount has the rights to. Tom probably just wants to be making popular movies again. Lions For Lambs was a bust, and critics are expecting the upcoming Valkyrie to be a flop. Tom wants to get back control of his career. We'll just have to see if Redstone caved to Tommy's wishes.
