Sumner Redstone is credited for being one of the most powerful media moguls of the late 20th century. As the head of Paramount studios, he worked closely with Tom Cruise and his production company, that is, until Tom was given the boot from Paramount.
In the December 2005 issue of Vanity Fair magazine, Sumner said that Tom was given the boot because "he was embarrassing the studio. And he was costing us a lot of money."
Well it looks like time does heal all wounds. Hollyscoop caught up with Redstone at the MTV VMA's, where he had nothing but nice things to say about his former business partner.
"I like Tom. I've made it clear, I think he's a great actor. We had lunch recently. But whether he works for Paramount, I don't make those decisions, Brad Grey makes them. And he knows that."
So now that there's no bad blood between the two, will Sumner and Tom make any more movies together? "We did movies together, a lot of them. But whether we make anymore, I'm not gonna make that decision, Brad Grey, who runs the studio will make them."
The last movie Sumner and Tom made together was Mission: Impossible III, which was a great flick! So let's hope they make it a mission to get back in the studio and start producing the Tom Cruise movies we all grew to love.
