Spider-Man 4 Gets Release Date

Spidey is officially coming back to the big screen! Spider Man 4 has finally gotten a release date. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the fourth installment will arrive on Thursday, May 5th, 2011.

Sony is hoping this one-day window of releasing Sider-Man on Thursday rather than Friday of that week will give them a big leg up on the summer competition.

And of course, we can expect to see Spidey in Imax. Imax Filmed Entertainment president Greg Foster says, "The Spider-Man franchise has been so important to the growth of our network and fan base over the years."

Other big block busters due out in summer ’11 are: Thor due on June 17 and The First Avenger: Captain America on July 22.
