The book you were forced to read in the ninth grade is now the hottest 3-D film for the 2012 holiday season.

A trailer for The Great Gatsby has hit the internet and it has about as much swagger as James Bond in a Jay-Z music video. Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire star in this glitzy flick that seems to mix F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel with the hit budget, crisp look of Chicago.

“The buildings were higher, the parties were bigger, the morals were looser, and the liquor was cheaper,” Maguire voices.

The trailer opens with Jay-Z and Kanye West’s thumping “No Church in the Wild” from their Watch The Throne album

No, he didn't just have a bad hand, Tobey Maguire paid $80,000 to settle in a lawsuit against a high-stakes poker ring.

Tobey was one of twenty-two people sued over the summer for partaking in a bunch of underground poker games headed by Ponzi schemer Bradley Ruderman.

I'm pretty sure you can get this whole story by watching Ocean's Eleven, but I'll summarize. Ruderman was a hedge fund manager who lost millions of dollars in his super secret, celebrity poker get-togethers. They'd meet at various places in Hollywood, including the famed Viper Room.

And here I thought guys played poker at their kitchen tables while their wives brought them little sandwiches. Everything I've learned from reruns of Roseanne is wrong.

Tobey Maguire has been replaced! Rumor has it that Jamie Bell and Andrew Garfield are both in the running to replace Tobey Maguire in the Spider Man franchise.

You’re probably asking the same question we did when we heard about this rumor. Jamie and Andrew who?

Jamie is a British actor who has actually won a Best Actor award at the 2001 British Academy Awards beating Russell Crowe, Tom Hanks, Michael Douglas and Geoffrey Rush. He’s best known for his role in Billy Elliott. He also dated Evan Rachel Wood who is currently engaged to Marilyn Manson.

Andrew Garfield, who starred in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is also in talks to be Spider-Man.

The fourth Spider-Man film will be shot in 3D and is scheduled to be released on July 3, 2012 it will reportedly focus on a younger version of the superhero.
Tobey Maguire may be through with Spider-Man, but he’s just landed an equally as exciting role! Reports surfaced today that Tobey will star as the lead in The Hobbit.

Maguire has signed on to play Bilbo Baggins in the movie adaptation of JRR Tolkien’s novel. Both producer Peter Jackson and director Guillermo del Toro actively pursued him for the role, knowing he’d be perfect.

Rumors about the casting surfaced last month, but at the time Tobey denied having any affiliation with the film. “I have not met or spoken to the director Guillermo del Toro or the producer Peter Jackson or anybody. Nobody has given me a script or approached me about it,” he said.

He did however express his interest, saying, “I love Guillermo del Toro and Peter Jackson and I certainly wouldn’t take myself out of the conversation.”

Sources say the production team couldn’t be happier about landing Maguire as their lead. A source told The Sun, "The Hobbit team are deep in the casting process. Everyone is over the moon. Tobey is not only one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, he is also one of the best actors."

Filming for The Hobbit begins this summer, and it will be split into two movies to be released in 2011 and 2012.
We’ve heard this rumor before, but it ended up being an April Fool’s joke. But now there may be some truth to Rob Pattinson taking over for Tobey Maguire as Spider Man.

Everyone’s favorite vampire is in the running to be the successor of Peter Parker after Maguire announced he was leaving the franchise. He said in a statement, "Beyond the films themselves, I have formed some deep and lasting friendships. I am excited to see the next chapter unfold in this incredible story."

The Daily Record reports that Rob is at the forefront for possible actors to take over, as well as Chace Crawford and Michael Cera.

Rob is busy shooting the film Bel Ami with Uma Thurman until February, and will likely begin on Breaking Dawn shortly thereafter, making Spidey a very difficult project to sign onto.

The next movie will supposedly focus more on Peter Parker’s character in high school. We’re not sure Rob, Chace or Michael look young enough to pull that off!

Who do you think should take over for Tobey?
