Sarah Palin made her little ol’ way to big ol’ New York City, and she claims to have been mistaken for Tina Fey.
Palin guest hosted NBC’s Today show on Tuesday, and she told Matt Lauer she had an amusing encounter with a tourist on her way to 30 Rockefeller Plaza. 30 Rock is, of course, the site of Tina Fey’s hit sitcom, aptly titled 30 Rock.
Palin said: “Oh geez, Matt. The nicest lady in the world, she stopped me, asked me where I was heading. I said 30 Rock and she said, 'Oh honey, I told you, Tina Fey is here'."
Sarah Palin does a really good Sarah Palin impression. But it’s still not as good as Julianne Moore’s.
When Lauer brought up Moore’s depiction of Sarah in Game Change, Sarah rolled her eyes. She said she hasn’t seen the movie, but preferred Tina’s version of her instead. Probably because Game Change hit a little too close to home.
“Tina Fey has been pretty clever,” Palin said.
With Palin hosting, the show was not without its awkward moments, as you can probably imagine.
During the ‘Today’s Professionals’ segment—comprised of Star Jones, Dr. Nancy Snyderman, and Donny Deutsch, Palin joined the panel to talk about Oprah’s failing OWN network. Palin said that Oprah’s only chance at saving the network is “if she’ll get some conservatives on the show, some patriots who understand the Constitution.”
Sarah chuckled. The other panelists were not amused.
“Let’s move on,” Matt said.
