Biography

American actress and writer Tina Fey was born on May 18, 1970 in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. After graduating from the University of Virginia, Fey moved to Chicago to pursue an acting career with an emphasis on comedy. Tina joined Saturday Night Live as a writer in 1997, becoming the first female head writer in the show's history. Tina became a steady fixture on SNL, hosting Weekend Update from 2000-2005.

Fey left the show in 2006 after giving birth to her daughter Alice. She returned to NBC later that year with the sitcom, 30 Rock. Fey has earned critical acclaim for her portrayal of Liz Lemon, including a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guilds awards for best actress in a comedy series.

Tina has made her mark on the big screen as well, writing and starring in the film, Mean Girls with Lindsay Lohan in 2004. Most recently, Fey starred opposite fellow SNL cast member Amy Poehler in Baby Mama in 2008.

Fey returned to SNL to play Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin in September 2008. Her portrayal of Palin has become an internet sensation and ratings bonanza because of her uncanny resemblance and dead-on depiction of Palin.

30 Rock” went live twice for Thursday’s show, delivering one performance for East Coast viewers and a second show for the West Coast, with a slight casting change in guest stars that made for big laughs.

In the setup, conservative NBC boss Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin) broke the bad news to Liz (Tina Fey) that to reduce costs they’d have to stop filming her show “TGS” live every week and tape it instead.

“From now on,” he instructed, “you write and shoot the season in two weeks, like ‘Wheel of Fortune’ and Fox News.”

Anything can happen on NBC tonight! “30 Rock” goes live, which marks the second time that the sitcom tapes an all-live episode! No cuts, no edits, no “let’s take it from the top.” Tonight’s episode could potentially feature tons of slip-ups, surprise celebrity cameos, and I dunno, use of the BLEEEEEP button!

Tina Fey recently told Entertainment Weekly that tonight’s episode will feature a cameo or two from some “friends of comedy, some friends of ’30 Rock.’”

Also, anything that has “live” and “Tracy Morgan” in it at the same time, is bound to be a spectacle. In the teasers for the episode, Tracy thinks “live” means “no script.”

Sarah Palin made her little ol’ way to big ol’ New York City, and she claims to have been mistaken for Tina Fey.

Palin guest hosted NBC’s Today show on Tuesday, and she told Matt Lauer she had an amusing encounter with a tourist on her way to 30 Rockefeller Plaza. 30 Rock is, of course, the site of Tina Fey’s hit sitcom, aptly titled 30 Rock.

Celebrities are human, and like us regular folk, they have bad dates too. I know, I assumed all celebrities meet each other at sushi restaurants and go on dates to the moon, or whatever. But according to these stars, they’ve had some pretty bad dates.

Tina Fey: Tina Fey remembers a time when her date almost died. “One time a guy invited me to go mountain climbing on a date, and he fell off the mountain. He was showing off, and he just fell.” Yeah, I’d say any date that ends in the emergency room, or on the side of a cliff, would be a very bad date.

Daniel Radcliffe: After claiming that he “hates” dating, Daniel Radcliffe says he gets to second base on a first date, except it was on accident. Somehow he thinks this is a bad date? Talking about his first date with his current girlfriend, “I didn't know what was appropriate, like on which date you're supposed to try and kiss her.
A lot of celebrities write books. Actually, too many of them. Nobody wants to read “Hooking Up with Tila Tequila” by Tila Tequila. The market is a little oversaturated right now.

That being said. There are some excellent celebrity books, like Tina Fey’s “Bossy Pants” and Alicia Silverstone’s “The Kind Diet” and then there are other celeb books that aren’t so great, like “Elixir” by Hilary Duff, but are somehow incredibly popular.

So here they are, the most successful celebrity “authors” ever. I put that in air quotes, because c’mon, nobody wants to be know as an “author” when you can be labeled a “celebrity.”

Lauren Conrad: Conrad is such a successful author she has 4 books! That’s four more than Audrina Patridge has got. Lauren wrote a trilogy of books called the “LA Candy” series, which follows the life of Jane Roberts who moves to LA for a fashion internship and ends up starring on a reality show! Gasp, this is NOTHING like the “The Hills.”
After going solo to a charity event at Clarence house last night, close up images of the Duchess of Cambridge reveal a scar on the side of her head near her hairline.

At first glance, some thought it was proof that Kate Middleton had started wearing hair extensions. However, that scar was not a track in her weave but rather "a scar from a childhood operation" as confirmed by a Palace spokesperson to People.

The palace sources would not elaborate on the details for privacy reasons.

But Kate Middleton isn't the only pretty face with an unsightly scar.

Prince William: When he was 13 he was left with a scar on his forehead after an accident with a golf club. In an interview in 2009, William said...
Desperate Housewives might be on its way out, but Eva Longoria is nowhere close to filing for unemployment. Along with 30 Rock star Tina Fey, the actress is the highest paid woman on TV.

Both Eva and Tina raked in $13 million between May 2010 and 2011. That's $3 million more than the third runner up, Marcia Cross. This is all according to Forbes magazine. Gotta love how Forbes lets us know how much we're paying our celebs.

So yes, another Desparate Housewives star was next on the list. Marcia Cross made $10 million, along with Law & Order: Special Victims Unit actress Mariska Hargitay and CSI's Marg Helgenberger, who all made $10 million each. People love their crime shows.
The 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Nominations were just announced in Los Angeles.

Bridesmaids scene-stealer Melissa McCarthy and Fringe's Joshua Jackson made the announcement live from the Television Academy's Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood.

Here is a list of the 2011 nominations:
Funny girl  Tina Fey has two major things to celebrate—her second pregnancy and the 100th episode of 30 Rock tonight.

Liz Lemon Tina talked to GQ magazine about her pregnancy, breast pumps, and how ugly Liz Lemon is. Here are some highlights from the interview:

Tina Fey on breast pumps: “Yeah, the thing's upsetting. I would try to pump milk while watching Entourage on demand. And that was the worst possible way to do it. Like, I had the pump on, and I'd hear Turtle on TV: Yo, E, you ever fuck a girl when she has her period? I just sat there thinking: Oooh, this is not how this is meant to be.”

...on whether or not she thinks Liz Lemon is ugly:

“It's never that she's ugly—I mean, she is sometimes slovenly. But for me, it's always been kind of the opposite of what people have said about her. It's about how other men see her, and has nothing to do with how she really is. When Jack is like, "Ugh, you're a mess," it's because of what his brain wants a woman to be. It has nothing to do with the physical symmetry of her size or anything. So no, she's not ugly. She's kind of sloppy. But all the clothes that Liz Lemon wears are much nicer than what I would wear on a writing-hiatus week.”

Tina Fey is one of the funniest women on television-but she's terrified her career is almost done.

She admits she's worried she's going to wake up one morning and realize that the industry is done with her and her career is over. Paranoid Patty on line one.

“You cannot count on showbusiness to be interested in you forever and ever,” Tina said.

“I have a friend, a veteran agent in Los Angeles. She says, ‘He’s cold. He’s cold,’ about some actor or other. And it’s over for them. That could happen to me.”

But despite her constant fear of being 'over' as an actress/comedian, Tina loved how horrible acting was in the beginning.

“Yes, there was bad pay, there were tough gigs and there were cr*ppy hotel rooms with bits of blood on the toilet seat,” she said. “But at the time it was always the greatest thing ever. I was just excited to be in showbusiness.”

Maybe the crazy dreams are due to her hormones. Tina is expecting baby #2 with her oddly short hubby.
