Wow, that was some "break" from golf, Tiger Woods. After coming in fourth place at the Masters two weeks ago, he announced that he'd be taking some time off in order to work on both his game, as well as his crumbling marriage to Elin Nordegren.
Now we've gotten word that Tiger has decided to cut his break short, and return in two weeks to play at the Quail Hollow Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina. The tournament begins April 29th, and runs through May 2nd.
He announced today, "I'm excited about competing. It's a wonderful venue, and they always have a great field."
In addition, Woods will also play the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach June 17-20,. The last time the tournament was held there in 2000, he won by a record-breaking 15 strokes. "It's always been one of my favorite courses," he said. I can't wait to go back."
Perhaps Tiger figures he's free to go back to golfing since Elin shows no signs of wanting to patch up their marriage. She's reportedly been meeting with divorce lawyers in recent weeks, and is on vacation away from both Tiger and her two children.
Do you think this "break" was a little too short, or should Tiger jsut get on with his career if he wants to get back to being a champion?
