Tiger Woods Loses Another Sponsor

December 14, 2009

Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods is watching his personal and professional life slowly crumble--and all because he couldn't keep it in his pants.

Now only has he found himself trying to convince his wife not to leave him, his people are trying to convince sponsors not to drop him as well. But it's too late for Accenture, an international consulting company.

In the wake of his cheating scandal, Accenture has decided to part ways with Tiger. "After careful consideration and analysis, the company has determined that he is no longer the right representative for its advertising," said a company rep.

So what does Tiger think about all this? "We are disappointed but respect their decision. That is all I have to say to you," Mark Steinberg, an agent for Woods, wrote in an e-mail to the Wall Street Journal.

According to People magazine, Tiger made an estimated $110 million a year in endorsements, and "Accenture, which provides consulting, technology and outsourcing services, was among the most closely associated with him."

And Accenture isn't the only having doubts about being associated with Tiger. Gillette has already suspended him and pulled him from future ads and Nike is on the fence.

AT&T and the Tag Heuer watch manufacturer have also both said they are reconsidering their relationship with Tiger.

Yikes, things aren't looking too good for Tiger. And we have a feeling things are about to get a lot worse. As a consumer would you stop buying products that Tiger endorses?

Really Crystal? Tiger Woods is being attacked because he's black? B.S. The man did something wrong, and sponsors have the right to not want their names or brands attached to how Woods behaves. The flip side of that coin is "Tiger Woods got all of those sponsors because he is black." Both statements are ridiculous and absurd. The race card is so played out. Maybe one day Americans will wake up and realize that whites are not the only race capable of being racist. Kanye West is a raging racist, but nobody seems to care. I'm not going to be made to feel guilty by ignorant comments like yours. Also, its clear that you don't pay much attention to the news. You don't seem to remember how many of Kate Moss's sponsors dumped her after the cocaine debacle....oh wait, they did it because she's white! Riiight. Your ignorance is infuriating. Grow up.

These sponsors that are dropping Tiger. Every last one of them need to self exam themselfs. There is not a one who can throw a stone, or say anything about Tiger. I am sure alot of the sponsors have mistresses, we just have not heard about it yet. Most of the big wheels, are just as guilty as Tiger. Before, we point the finger, take a look at yourself.

He should FIRE his PR people. If he had spoken out at the onset, this would not have gotten so bad. These conniving, spiteful bitches are out for themselves. And the "creditable" tv outlets that interview them should be ashamed of themselves. It's gotten to the point where I want to shoot the dog for bringing me the paper :0) :0)

crystal, what does race have to do with it. Even those idiots in congress keep it to one person. this guy is sick, and I, for one, will boycott all his sponsors, why should I pay to fill his pockets for what he did to his wife and kids. Also, as far as watching golf goes, I think it will be more interesting without him. We'll get to see different people instead of same ol, same ol.

Considering how much he's made so far, it's hard to feel sorry for him. I'm sure he'll be able to live off of what he has. It's just sad that he did this to his wife and kids.

This is ridiculous! When Michael Phelps was caught smoking weed, he didn't get nearly as much publicity. I don't condone cheating in any way shape or form and although it maybe immoral, at least it's not illegal! I think Tiger is getting a shaft! (No pun intended!)

I think its disgusting the way the media is attacking this man just because he has had affairs. I know its also because he is black. Football players, basketball players, baseball players all have affairs, but I don't see anyone else being attacked in the media or losing their endorsements. The people who are cancelling his endorsements are a bunch of hypocrites. Those corporate bigwigs are notorious for having affairs behind their wives backs but its okay since most of them are white. Senators, Congressmen have affairs, I don't see them stepping down. The media is just plain horrible. It is disgusting that gossip is big news and nothing else. There are no such things as journalists anymore, they are just a bunch of gossip mongers.

I guess you only feel sorry for the guy now because it all seems so pathetic but how long would have gone on trying to get away with it all? Why is it that celebrities get so puffed up and delusional that they can't believe that they wouldn't be caught? With being so high profile and all... it seems like a not brainer to me!! I mean the operative word here is duuhh...

Ha, ha, annie, right on! or the Waffle House. Didn't he have sex with a waffle waitress, too? I've signed up with Accenture, and it had nothing to do with him. They didn't find me a job, either. If I believe what these sponsors want me to believe then these 2 losers belong together. But one has nothing to do with the other.

>>>consumer would you stop buying products that Tiger endorses?<<< No. Because my purchasing habits don't depend on anyone's advertising it. Simple. And frankly for people to stop purchasing just because he ad. it?? Crazy.
