NBC is doing some housework but instead of scrubbing mildew and sweeping cobwebs, they’re adding some shiny new personalities to “The Voice.”
The music competition show has announced that they will be attaching Michael Buble to their charm bracelet of talent. The Italian Canadian singer will serve as an adviser to coach Blake Shelton’s team.
Buble is a self-described “big Blake fan,” so the choice makes a lot of sense on his end, anyway. The duo have already teamed up, having started taping Buble’s appearances for the show on Monday in Los Angeles.
You may recall this position from previous seasons. The adviser weighs in and tries to help each singer for their respected teams. Last season’s advisers included Kelly Clarkson, Jewel, and Babyface.
The attention earned Clarkson her own spot as a mentor on the ABC show “Duets” that premiered in May.
Casting shake-ups could be an effort to fix season two’s shrinking numbers. At one point, a third season was not even a sure thing.
No word yet on who’s going to be advising for Team Xtina, Team Cee Lo, and Team Adam.
Michael Buble’s 2011 studio release Christmas was nominated for the Top 200 Album at the 2012 Billboard Awards. He lost out to Adele’s 21 but, let’s face it, no one was about to beat her for that one.
The third season of “The Voice,” with Blake, Michael, and whoever else they decide to add the gang, starts up this September on NBC.
