It seems just like yesterday that I was drinking my coffee and getting ready for work while watching Katie Couric's Today show exit. Five years later, and Meredith Vieira is having hers, trying to hold back the tears, because lord knows the woman doesn’t have much moisture to spare these days.

She still looks good, but getting up at 3:00 am and putting up with Matt Lauer every day for five years will run its course on you. But hopefully it was worth it for Meredith, and we're tallying our five favorite Meredith Vieira Today show moments:

If you turned on The Today Show this morning, you were treated to quite the surprise! Matt Lauer, Meredith Viera, Al Roker, Hoda Kotb, Kathie Lee, and the rest of the gang all dressed up as the cast of Star Wars.

We don’t even want to know when Hoda showed up for hair and makeup this morning, but we’re guessing it was a tad earlier than usual. She, fittingly, went as Yoda.

No Doubt to Kick Off Today Show Summer Concert Series

The Today Show has announced their annual Summer Concert Series, in which musical acts perform live from Rockefeller Center. Kicking things off this year is No Doubt, who will take the stage May 1st. How exciting is that going to be to see them back together?!

No Doubt has been on a multi-year hiatus, and the band’s Today performance marks the group’s first concert together in five years. The live concert will also mark their first-ever Today Show performance.

Other huge acts taking the outdoor stage this year are Jennifer Hudson, The Black Eyed Peas, Taylor Swift, and Flo Rida. Check out the full schedule for Summer 2009 below!

Tom Cruise Roasts Matt Lauer On Today Show

As we had reported earlier this morning, Tom Cruise was expected to make a surprise appearance on The Today Show with Matt Lauer, and that's exactly what he did!

"Matt and I talk two, three, four times a day," Cruise joked. "You're the one who told me to talk about Katie Holmes on Oprah!" he said.

"I get to go from international locations to movie sets to more international locations to international location," Cruise said. "You have found happiness doing the same thing everyday. You sit on a couch all day and interview the car from Knight Rider and cook radishes with Rachael Ray!" Cruise said.

Right before Cruise exited the stage, Matt finally snapped back at him saying, "Why don't you sit down? We'll get you a booster seat!"

It's the first time Tom and Matt have been on the set together since 2005, so they obviously had a thing or two to say to each other. It was all in good fun though.
