The Simpsons

After over twenty years on the air, The Simpsons is in danger of coming to an end. Due to salary disputes, Fox is contemplating canning the long-running series entirely.

20th Century Fox Television reportedly told the cast-- Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria and Harry Shearer—that they must take a 45 percent pay cut. I know these guys make a lot of money, but to put this high percentage in perspective, think about the current lifestyle you lead, and then cut it in half. Not looking so good, is it? Especially for me, who’s eating Del Taco as I write this.

The voice actors agreed to a 30 percent cut, but wanted to negotiate profit in other areas to make up for it—merchandising, syndication, etc. Fox wasn’t having that, either.
Katy Perry and her breasts may be banned from Sesame Street, but they're welcomed with open arms on The Simpsons.

Katy is set to appear on a special episode of The Simpsons that will air on Christmas Day.

Ironically her Simpsons cameo was taped before Sesame Street! She must really love showing off her ta-tas!

Over the weekend Katy was the guest performer on SNL and she made fun of her Sesame Street boobies fallout by wearing an Elmo low cut top. There was an entire skit dedicated to how well she's "developed" upstairs. Hilarious!
Don't MISS out on Breaking News!
The super sexy Halle Berry has a new gig--she's turning into a cartoon.

Halle is set to join The Simpsons to participate in a hilarious Oscars parody.

“It’s a satire of the different Oscar acceptances where two people clearly race to the stage to get there first, and Homer and Bart are fighting to be the one that accepts,” producer Al Jean told Entertainment Weekly magazine.

She'll "present a trophy at the Academy Awards, which features Bart and Homer as nominees for their animated short that’s based on Bart’s cartoon webseries Angry Dad.”

Hopefully get a wet one from Homer like she did from Adrien Brody. The episode is scheduled to air in early 2011.
Sacha Baron Cohen is getting animated. He’ll be lending his voice for a guest appearance on an upcoming episode of The Simpsons.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Cohen will play a “pretty angry but funny” Israeli tour guide who encounters the family when they take a trip to the Holy Land with their church group. The episode, entitled “The Greatest Story Ever D’ohed,” will also feature Homer believing he’s the Messiah.

Executive producer Al Jean says, “He’s trying to get Marge to give him good grades on the comment card. And she goes, ‘You people are pushy,’ and he goes, ‘What do you mean, ‘you people’? You try having Syria for a neighbour! What do you have — Canada?’”

“The Christians, the Jews and Muslims are united in that they all get mad at Homer. It’s the only thing they can agree on.”

Sounds right up Cohen’s alley! The episode will air in March.
Here’s some trivia for you! Michael Jackson actually voiced a character for the show The Simpsons back in 1991. And now the Fox execs have decided to re-air the episode, entitled “Stark Raving Dad.”

In the episode, Jackson is the voice of a 300-pound mental patient who believes he’s the famous singer. EW reports that the episode will air on Sunday July 5th at 8PM on Fox.

The network also showed their support for Jackson last week when they aired the music video for “Do the Bartman,” which Michael co-wrote for the 1990 album The Simpsons Sing the Blues.

This is the perfect quirky way for The Simpsons to pay their respects to Jackson.
Anne Hathaway is getting animated this weekend! She’ll be lending her voice on The Simpsons this Sunday, playing Bart’s older girlfriend, and Anne couldn’t be excited about it!

She tells E! News that she’s been a fan of the show since she was a little girl. She says, “I grew up watching it with my brothers, and it stuck with me…high school, college, post, everything. I always stop whenever it’s on.

"And when I found out they wanted me to come and do a voice, I flipped out. It might be one of the most if not the most exciting thing that’s ever happened to me.”

Wow! Even more exciting than being nominated for an Oscar? Guess Anne really is a super fan! Check out Anne talking about her character below, and tune into Fox this Sunday.

This year’s Writer’s Guild of America nominees were announced this morning, and The Simpsons is the pack leader. Check out this hilarious clip of Homer Simpson trying to vote for Obama during the Presidential elections.

We don't want to spoil the video for you, but lets just say bad things happen to him when he tries to NOT vote for McCain.
