Not only was "The Hangover" a box office smash in theaters, it's rocking the DVD charts as well!
Todd Phillips' comedy is now the number one selling comedy DVD of all time.
Since its release on Blu-ray and DVD on December 15th 2009, the film has become the #1 comedy of all time on the DVD charts with combined consumer and rental sales topping 8.6 million units with 1.5 million units coming from Blu-ray purchases, reports Deadline Hollywood.
And if that's not impressive enough, The Hangover earned more than $467 million worldwide during its theatrical run, making it the highest-grossing R-rated comedy of all time.
Hollyscoop spoke exclusively with The Hangover director Todd Phillips in Las Vegas while promoting the DVD release, and he's not only working on a sequel for the movie, he wants to cast Tiger Woods in the sequel!
Phillips said, "We are going to try and get Tiger Woods for the second one...Yeah help him regain his image." They say comedy is the best cure for anything, even scandals.
“Mike (Tyson) loved doing the Hangover because he loved fucking with the image people had of him. He knew we were not making fun of him but of the image people projected on him.”
We highly doubt Tiger would agree to the cameo, but at least we know there's a sequel in the works. "We are writing it right now, it’s not coming out for a bit. We want to shoot it over the summer," Phillips told Hollyscoop.
