The Dark Knight Rises has finally released a trailer. Audiences who saw “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” this weekend were able to see the first trailer for “The Dark Knight Rises,” the film doesn’t even hit theaters until next summer.
For all the hype surrounding this film the trailer leaves out almost all of it’s biggest stars. Christian Bale returns to play Batman and the trailer shows him in bat costume for 2 seconds. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, and Anne Hathaway play a cop, a Wayne Enterprises employee and Catwoman, respectively, but none of them make appearances in the trailer sadly.
Honestly, the trailer could pass itself off as another trailer for “Inception,” but really if you’re not a dude between the ages of 17-24 whose gonna notice…am I right ladies?
“The Dark Knight Rises” marks the last Batman film directed by Christopher Nolan, thought he will continue to produce any future films in the franchise.
The trailer opens with Gary Oldman’s character, Commissioner Gordon, in a hospital bed begging for Batman to return followed by quick cuts of things being smashed and building falling to pieces. Heath Ledger was the best part of “The Dark Knight,” I hope this one can live up to it’s predecessors hype.
However, I can’t wait to see Christian Bale mutter through clenched teeth again and I’m sure guys cannot wait to see Anne Hathaway in a latex cat suit.
