I think everyone can agree on one thing, there is nobody who isn’t excited for the final installment in the Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises.
Last night during the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, cast members Gary Oldman, Christian Bale and Joseph Gordon-Levitt first presented a tribute video to the Batman franchise, with Bale getting teary eyed at seeing the late Heath Ledger on screen in his famous Joker role.
“Wow, great to remember Heath at that moment. Wonderful to see Heath Ledger there,” says an emotional Bale.
Then, the film's stars welcome The Dark Knight Rises brainchild and director Christopher Nolan to the stage, who presents a brand new trailer for the flick. Even though the film hits theaters on July 20, Nolan told audiences that he is “almost finished with [the movie], but not quite.”
Here’s what happens in the brand new trailer.
The clip opens with one of many new scenes featuring Anne Hathaway as Cat Woman. Actually, the trailer focuses A LOT on Anne Hathaway.
For all the haters who thought Hathaway would make a terrible catwoman (myself included), she is pretty badass.
Also, we get a pretty good look at new villain Bane. Actor Tom Hardy as Bane might come close to eclipsing the brilliant Joker that Heath Ledger created in The Dark Knight.
While the trailer is definitely epic, still not exactly sure what it’s about, but it’s clear that Bane does a lot of “wreaking havoc,” Catwoman appears to be on Batman’s side, though I can’t be sure, and still no idea what superhero Joseph Gordon-Levitt will “turn into” at the end of the flick.
That being said, it’s the greatest 1 minute and 40 seconds on the internet. Happy Monday!
