GASP! Another reality engagement that didn’t work out…
Any hope that Courtney Robertson and Ben Flajnik were getting back together was officially squandered today. “The Bachelor” couple made it officially unofficial when Courtney returned her engagement ring to the Season 16 stud.
According to Us Weekly, Courtney gave back her 3-carat, $80,000 ring that was purchased from Neil Lane boutique in Los Angeles.
Why didn’t she just strap on a pair of brass knuckles for a punch to Ben’s network-embellished groin?
Actually, due to the rules of the ABC series, because the couple has reached its conclusion, they are required to return the ring to the store that it came from.
"We grew apart," Flajnik said on the failed engagement. "We realized it wasn't working."
"Courtney was in love with Ben," her friend added. "She put a lot of work into that relationship -- him, not so much."
According to the report, it was Courtney who ended things with Ben.
They announced their split on October 5, following a controversial cheating scandal that Ben was caught up in this past summer. The drama involved not one, but three different girls that were not his wife-to-be.
Gotta love young love!
Following the controversy – and even since the finale – the couple has appeared in the public to be in an on-again, off-again relationship rollercoaster.
The symbolic ring was making headlines dating as far back as this past March when Courtney was seen strolling about WITHOUT the rock just a day after the finale of the couple’s “Bachelor” season.
But with this ring return, we can finally stick a fork in this romance and send off to rot in the celebrity couple bone yard.
