Linda Hamilton, who played the original Sarah Connor in Terminator, may be returning to the franchise for the latest installment. Terminator Salvation is almost done shooting, but may be adding Hamilton’s voice in post production.
She tells MTV News, “My contribution would be voice-over. “I would probably be very happy to loan my voice depending on what the material is. Wait and see. They’re already writing it. We’ve been negotiating it.”
But what the actual part is for Linda is unclear. She says, “I haven’t read it yet. I don’t know what direction they will go in.”
This is really interesting because Linda actually declined a role in the third Terminator movie, Rise of the Machines, because she didn’t feel it was right. She says, “They offered me a part. I read it and I knew my character arc was so complete in the first two, and in the third one it was a negligible character. She died halfway through and there was no time to mourn her. It was kind of disposable, so I said no thank you.”
It’s not too often an actor would turn down such a huge role like that. So this is big news for the franchise that she’ll be doing voice-over! It all adds to the big mystery surrounding what will happen in this fourth movie.
Only a few months more of waiting! The film is scheduled to come out in theaters on May 21st.
