Filipinos Get Apology From Desperate Housewives

Teri Hatcher

Earlier this week we wrote a story about the racial slurs Susan Mayer(Teri Hatcher) made against Filipinos during the season premiere of 'Desperate Housewives.' Naturally, it pissed off a lot of people off and they requested an apology. Well, they just got it!

ABC issued the following statement, "The producers of `Desperate Housewives' and ABC Studios offer our sincere apologies for any offense caused by the brief reference in the season premiere. There was no intent to disparage the integrity of any aspect of the medical community in the Philippines."

"As leaders in broadcast diversity, we are committed to presenting sensitive and respectful images of all communities featured in our programs
."

Writers and Teri Hatcher are the most stupid persons that ever walked on this side of the earth. Why? Because they are ignorant period. Fuck you, idiots, desperate horny sluts. Immoral programming. I predict something will happen to that program, soonest.

Teri Hatcher been down for the last several years now when she shines again she tends to downgrade people, we Filipino deserved a bow to all American whose doing the things they could never learn . Our Educations are much higher than most Americans. It is very rare you could find uneducated Filipinos what more if they are Doctors. Get real Teri, growing up in California you should know Filipino better youve been rubbing elbows and youve been in our neighborhood. We wont go down on your level and your stupid comment , you just want to be famous .

Hurray for ABC supposedly Disney Channel not Discrimination Channel.I have never seen any version of that show, I rather go watch Law and Order Re run than wasting my time on that show.

That line which made a sweeping generalization caused a lot of hurt of outrage. It was obviously stupid, and written by somebody ignorant. Don't blame the Filipinos for not getting over it.

i'm proud to be a filipino! whatever derogatory remarks you hear from other countries filipinos are the best.. yeah, maybe it's time to get over this but we'll certainly not forget about it.. if you don't know what you're saying and/or not sure about it, better remain silent and be thought as a fool than open your mouth and prove it..

i myself am a filipino. and i really don't care about her remark. it was intended to be a comic relief, and it came across that way, especially to me, who understands where it came from. don't ask for an apology when you deserve it. i know it's a stereotype but, i mean, come on, pilipinas! gumising naman kayo. (wake up, people.) there's so much corruption in the philippines, some of which has to do with education. freaking recto street is the embodiment of this! you can get any type of fake certification there. i'm not putting down my own race. i love the philippines. but sometimes, filipinos can get really whiny. "i hear an ambulance coming. WAAAAAAAH." that's all i hear. if we can take this criticism as a lesson to right the wrong, then hey, we'll find ourselves to be better people.

This comment is for JM. I'm not a Filipino, but your attitude towrds them say who you really are. You're so blessed being in America, but don't ever say something like that, just count you're blessings. The comment of Terry Hatcher is so deameaning. She should have a GMRC(Good Manners and Right Conduct)sessiions for this. This is a lesson for network, writers and also to Miss Hatcher,be sensitive and responsible. Please don't point to a definite group of people if you're discriminating them. The damage is done, there's no way of fixing it up. I'm a medical doctor too, and this network must have a general "clean up" from top to bottom.

To JM, anything concerning the medical profession, is not a comic relief or a joke. It might get back to you when you'll be under these doctors. They'll treat you as a joke too being in the hospital. Please have a high respect not only for doctors, but for all medical professionals. This is a signal for a network or somebody's downfall. Some of the best doctors in the world are Filipinos. Notonly doctors but also Filipino nurses, pharmacists, etc. Do you know how hard working, conscientious and disciplined they are? This network must be ashamed to themselves.

Husband to a Filipina
Why didn't the screenwriter goons just use "The Jack Kevorkian School of Medicine" instead. I use to like Teri Hatcher. Now I wouldn't tinkle on her if she were on fire. And by the way, I "just got over it"! I blocked all ABC programming on my cable box.

f*ck desperate housewives.. i'm filipino and my mom was a nurse for 26 years and was great at what she did. honestly it's dumb sh*t like this why racism is still evident and always will be.. and for any other dumb f*cks like iCu on this forum who think it's that easy to get over such degrading comments.. you need to take a long good at yourself in the mirror, cause it's ideals coming from such ignorant people why this "racism" issue never goes away.
