Taylor Swift is known for being two things: compassionate, and extremely compassionate.
When Sgt. Wade Wilson – a fan of Swift’s - was killed in duty, the country pop star received notice and reached out to the family in Texas. The Marine passed on May 11, 2012 while serving overseas.
According to KBTX.com, Swift sent a personalized flower arrangement and her condolences to the family.
“Wade… Thank you for loving my music. I won’t forget it and I will never forget you. All my love, Taylor Swift.”
What’s more, Swift has asked the family if she could wear Sgt. Wilson's dog tags in her next video that she is currently shooting in California in honor of the fallen Marine and her support for troops everywhere putting their lives on the line.
A source tells Hollyscoop that though Swift did not write the message personally, the letter was drafted verbatim over the phone with Swift’s rep. The arrangement was purchased from a flower shop in Centerville, Texas.
The funeral services were held at a local high school on Saturday in order to accommodate all those who attended to pay their respects.
Swift called Sgt. Wilson’s mother and spoke with her on the phone. Details of the call will remain between Swift and the family, but we can only image it was a sweet as Taylor’s usual self.
Our sympathies go out to Sgt. Wilson’s family and friends during this difficult time.
