Russell Brand got a lot of heat for the jokes he made about the Jonas Brothers' purity rings at the MTV VMA's. He basically said it was a shame that the Jonas Brothers weren't taking advantage of their celebrity status by scoring with a lot of girls.
He upset so many people that VMA's bosses made him apologize to the Jonas Brothers.
Jordin Sparks even expressed her anger over the comments. “I just have one thing to say about promise rings. It’s not bad to wear a promise ring. Because not everybody – guy or girl – wants to be a slut,” said Sparks.

Another Cinderella Story DVD release event where she gave us her two cents on purity rings.
"The Jonas brothers are amazing and they have great attitudes about everything," Swift told Hollyscoop.
"I think the way they’ve handled it has been amazing," she added.
