The son of actor Sylvester Stallone and Sasha Czack has been found dead in his Hollywood apartment of a suspected overdose of pills.
Police officers were called to the home of Sage Moonblood Stallone, 36, Friday afternoon and discovered the body. There were no signs of foul play or forced entry.
LAPD Commander Andrew Smith tells People magazine, "It sounds like a terrible tragedy. He was way too young to die," adding that reports that Sage died from a overdose of pills are premature and the case has now been referred to the coroner.
"It could have been a heart attack or a stroke," he says.
A rep for Sylvester Stallone released the following statement: "Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son Sage Stallone. His compassion and thoughts are with Sage's mother, Sasha. Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man, his loss will be felt forever."
Sage’s attorney George Braunstein told the New York Post, “He was in good spirits, and working on all kinds of projects,” said Braunstein. “He was planning on getting married. I am just devastated. He was an extremely wonderful, loving guy. This is a tragedy.
An actor, director, writer and producer, Sage made his on-screen debut in the 1990 film Rocky V, playing opposite his father as the title character's son, Robert Balboa.
Our condolences go out to Sage's friends and family.
