Sage Stallone was laid to rest Saturday following a funeral at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Brentwood as his mother, father and friends grieved his loss.
According to the Daily Mail, Sylvester Stallone had his eyes shielded with sunglasses as he was joined by close family and friends for the service.
Dressed in a black suit, a black tie and a white shirt, the 66-year-old actor was seen watching his son's casket being taken away by a hearse following the service.
The hearse was then reportedly driven to Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles, where Sage was buried and finally laid to rest.
Sylvester's ex-wife and Sage's mother Sasha Czack, his current wife Jennifer Flavin, younger brother Frank and longtime friend and attorney Marty Singer were also in attendance at the service.
Fans showed their support for the actor as they were seen holding up placards with pictures of Sly and Sage from across the street.
Sage's body was discovered in his home on July 13 of what was assumed to be an apparent overdose given the amount of prescription medications found at the scene.
An autopsy performed was inconclusive and the cause of death remains unknown pending the results of toxicology tests, which usually takes weeks.
Some reports suggested Sage may have overdosed on prescription drugs, and longtime friends of Sage's told People magazine that he did take prescription pills regularly for anxiety and other issues.
As those close to Sage remember him, his longtime friend and business partner, Bob Murawski, tells Hollyscoop exclusively:
"Sage was my partner in Grindhouse Releasing and one of my dearest friends. He was one of the smartest, funniest, most creative guys I've ever known. He had so much potential. The world has lost an incredible talent."
