'Survivor' Lunch Lady Donates $50,000
Talk about being 'giving' during the holiday season. Denise Martin, who is best known as the lunch lady on CBS' reality show 'Survivor: China' is donating the $50,000 she got from the show to the Pediatric AIDs Foundation.
Martin was originally granted the $50,000 after she got demoted from lunch lady to janitor at a school in Douglass, Mass., after finishing fourth on the show.
The producers of 'Survivor' gave her that money to help her get her life back on track, but she turned around and donated the entire amount. Talk about a heart of gold, I'm truly touched!
"I do not feel comfortable about accepting the $50,000. I would instead ask that it be donated to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation," the statement said. "Please accept my apology. I would also like to thank all the people who have supported me through this experience."
Kudos to Martin!
