Sweetface just got some bitter news--it's going out of production.
Lopez's line has been in trouble for a while now, and quite frankly, it's just not worth the time and money to have the collection in production.
She launched
Sweetface back in 2003 after her other clothing line
J.Lo failed to pull in the kind of money it was expected. In 2007 she finally closed
J.Lo and even refused to be called that.
If you called out "J.Lo" on a red carpet, she wouldn't pose for photos. She'll reportedly refuse to do any print interviews if the publications refers to her as J.Lo even one!
Sweetface did well for about three years. In 2006, it pulled in $200 million. But that lucre was short-lived.
New York Magazine reports that Lopez plans on relaunching, "in the near future with new messaging points and an entirely new fashion point of view."
So does that mean we're not allowed to associate the word "sweet" with her name? What did you think of her line? Are you surprised by the news?
