There are thousands of t-shirt companies out there, but few that have such a cool message behind them. Free by SP caught our eye because of the mantra associated with the line. Behind the comfy tees and hoodies is a message we probably all need to hear: Go for it! Here’s owner Steve Pirring’s mission statement:
“The Free By SP Collection is my way of getting people to challenge themselves, and look good doing it. Hate your job, get another, need a vacation, go, want to meet that certain someone, go after it. Do it with passion, do it with flare, do it like only you can do it, I am. Bottom line, DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO, NO EXCUSES!”
Steve came up with the name of the collection while vacationing in the Bahamas. He says, “ I was eating lunch with a friend, over looking the busy streets, smoking a cigar. I asked him how he felt at the moment. He looked confused, and asked me. I replied, " I feel free" and the rest is history.
One of the best-selling shirts in the collection is our favorite, the See Your Dreams tee, which replicates an eye chart you focus on at the optometrist. The best selling women’s shirt is the Definition tee, which shows the Webster’s definition of the word Free, although there are words in the definition that have been altered to reflect what your definition actually is.
The line has already been spotted on several celebs, including Neil Armstrong, Damien Fahey from MTV TRL, 98 Degrees Singer Jeff Timmons, on the red carpet for The Reader, On Espn First Take, Backstage at The Grammys, On Jay Z's tour, and The Amazing race.
