As Hollyscoop previously reported,
Audrey Tautou is the new face of
Chanel No. 5. And to commemorate the new crowning, the brand has shot a commercial starring their new muse. Or should we say short film??
The spot is beautifully shot on a train alongside the French countryside, on which Audrey is a passenger who keeps running into the same mysteriously beautiful man, played by
Rodrigo Santoro.
The short film was directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, who worked with Tautou on
Amelie. Filmed in a railway station in Nice and on the Bosphorus in Istanbul, it was inspired by a scene in the Oscar-nominated film
A Very Long Engagement.
Tatou, who plays the title role of Coco Chanel in Anne Fontaine's new film
Coco avant Chanel, said of her appointment to the luxury fashion house: "It hasn't really sunk in yet. The fact that the film has been directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, the fact that it is Chanel No.5, which for me is a legend in itself. Even now, I find it hard to believe."
