Steven Tyler Rushed to Hospital After Nasty Fall

If years of drug abuse and sexual liaisons haven’t brought him down, you can bet your ass this won't.

The 63 year old rocker-turned-American Idol judge, Steven Tyler, slipped and fell in his hotel bathroom on Tuesday, and it was such a nasty fall, he was rushed to a local emergency room. Tyler was staying in Paraguay.

Steven spent four hours at La Costa medical center in the capital and had emergency dental work and stitches. He had cuts to his face and lost two teeth. Don't worry, Steven. Cuts to the face are very rockstar. Just ask Iggy Pop.

Unfortunately, Aerosmith had to cancel Tuesday night's show in Asuncion, Paraguay—part of their current Latin American tour. But damn, these guys are in their mid-sixties. Buying a ticket to an Aerosmith concert is a gamble at this point, you know?

The band kicked off the Latin American tour on Saturday in Lima, Peru and they're still slate to hit La Plata, Argentina on Friday and also make appearances in Brazil, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador and Mexico. From there, Japan.

Marcelo Antunez, spokesperson for the show's promoter, said:

"Mr. Tyler had a small accident that prevents him from staging the concert tonight. He is fine, he's in his hotel but he's not able to do the concert."

Poor guy. I mean, he's one of the biggest rockers on the planet, so we forget; he's still an old man fully capable of falling in the shower.

But in actuality, Tyler wasn't feeling right before his fall. Another spokesperson, Nicolas Garzia, tweeted that Tyler was dehydrated and suffering gastrointestinal problems before the fall. So he probably had other things going on. Also, how many spokespeople do these guys need?

The Paraguay concert is scheduled for Wednesday night. I don’t get how this guy can be rushed to the hospital and then get right back up and be in Aerosmith. If I get so much as a cough, I'm out for a week.

This isn't Steven's first fall. In 2009, he fell off of a stage in South Dakota and was rushed to the hospital. I should mention this was at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. The sound system went out during "Love in an Elevator," and in an attempt to dance for the crowd, Steven fell off the stage. The group had to postpone their North American tour.

Lovin' it up till I hit the grooouuund.
