St. Elmo's Fire Being Turned into TV Show
August 14, 2009 by: BRIDGET DALY

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series will echo the film, which followed the lives of a group of friends who have just graduated from college and are figuring out where their lives are taking them.
The local tavern will be renamed from St. Elmo's Bar & Restaurant to St. Elmo's Bar & Grill, while the Georgetown setting will remain as before. Sounds like we may have another Friends on our hands!
And that’s exactly what screenwriter Dan Bucatinsky thinks too. He says, "I feel it is time to recreate Friends in the hour-long genre and feel like this is the perfect opportunity. More than anything, the movie evokes a feeling that doesn't go away. The feeling of bonding with your friends who become your surrogate family. It's the feeling of that time in your life when everything is possible but you can't figure out how to make it possible."
No casting or air date has been announced as of yet, but details to follow! Finally a TV show we can get excited about!
