Spencer says he’s always thought differently than Heidi when it comes to cosmetic surgery. "Anytime I hinted that it might be a little much or if I just asked if she was sure, I even felt like I was crossing lines," he tells People. "I'm not in charge of what she does with any part of her body. I'm her husband – not her owner."
Spencer goes on to say he always thought his wife was perfect, and didn’t need to go under the knife. "But,” he says, “Everyone sees themselves differently when they look in the mirror. Nobody truly understands how she feels except her. I may not be okay with things, but it's not my call."
Spencer says he took care of Heidi for seven weeks post-surgery, and that it was extremely difficult seeing her that way. "Right after … it was the worst experience of my life," Pratt says. "Nobody that loves a loved one should see that."
That might be the smartest, and dare we say sweetest, thing we’ve ever heard Spencer say. And it’s true—at the end of the day, at least Heidi has someone who cares about her.
