Sofia Vergara on Emmy Nomination: We've Already Won!

Joel McHale and Sofia Vergara had the honor of announcing the 2010 Emmy Nominations this morning and while Joel's show Community got snubbed, Sofia's show Modern Family got 14 nominations!

Sofia seemed genuinely surprised when her name was called for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy. "It's so fantastic," she told Hollyscoop exclusively after the nominations were announced.

She added, "I realized how big the show was the first day it aired; everybody loved it since the first episode. It’s a surprise on the first season to be nominated for an Emmy."

Modern Family is up against Glee and 30 Rock, two Emmy favorites, but to Sofia, her show is already a winner.

"I think we already won just by being nominated," she told Hollyscoop. "It’s special to be here. If we don’t win this year I'm sure that we have many more years to be able to win. I am grateful to be part of this group. People love the show so much."

Sofia's castmates Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and
Ty Burrell were also nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy. They've all developed such a great working relationship, they all submitted themselves for the Supporting Actor category, not Best Actor/Actress--not even Ed O’Neill!

The reason? They all felt like they contributed to the show equally and that nobody is bigger than anybody else.

"We all love each other, Sofia told Hollyscoop, "the chemistry we have is what people are watching on TV."
