It ain’t easy being Snooki. There’s the public ridicule, having to live with three horny guys, not to mention it must be a pain in the ass for her to reach things on shelves.
And now, if poor Snooks doesn’t have enough to deal with, the Jersey Shore star has been hit with a $7 million lawsuit. Good thing she’s got that spin-off series with JWoww.
Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi is in the middle of a legal battle with a licensing company called SRG Ventures. She partnered with them to launch merchandise including watches, shoes, lingerie and school supplies. Yes, school supplies. Snooki got her role model on.
In October, Snooki filed suit against SRG to end her contract because she felt like the company wasn’t doing very well to brand her. And as we all know, the big thing now is branding ourselves. Like cows.
Anyway, Snooki wanted to end her contract, and SRG responded with a $7 million counterclaim. They claimed that she sabotaged the deal by negotiating with other brands behind their backs.
Snooki’s rep told the New York Post: "Ms. Polizzi disputes SRG's version of the facts and looks forward to her day in court."
‘Looks forward to’? What is this, the county fair?
Since she signed the contract, none of the products have appeared on the market. Snooki has, however, recently launched her own brand of perfume. I haven’t smelled it, but I’m guessing it’s 0% fragrance and 100% alcohol. Snooki said of her venture:
"I've always wanted to do a perfume so I went really tacky, gaudy and over the top.”
No surprise there.
“I'm really happy with it,” she continued. “The packaging is very different -- pink and purple zebra and leopard print. And the bar code is my poof and sunglasses!"
