Slumdog Child Actors to Attend Oscars
The children who played the younger versions of Dev Patel and Freida Pinto in Slumdog Millionaire will be attending the Oscars on Sunday.

Nine different children portrayed the characters in the progression of them growing up in the film, and will all travel from India to Hollywood this weekend.

The children will have the honor of walking the red carpet alongside Patel, Pinto, and the rest of the cast attending the biggest event in Hollywood. And in addition, Danny Boyle handpicked two additional children to accompany them to walk the red carpet on Sunday.

Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail, 10, and Rubina Ali, 9, were plucked from their homes in a Mumbai slum, making this trip their first time out of India.

Fox Searchlight made all the travel and visa arrangements for the children, which is known to be a tough process in India. All the kids will also be staying in a 5-star hotel for their trip. Not a bad gig!

It’s going to be so cute to see the kids walking the red carpet on Sunday, looking all starry-eyed. Now let’s just hope Slumdog gets a whole bunch of wins!
