Simon admits that he needs his beauty rest just like the rest of us. In a new interview with The Sun, Simon says he may be spreading himself a little too thin, and may be quitting one of his shows. He tells the tabloid, “Something may have to give.”
It may look like all fun and games while we’re watching from home, but Simon is worked to the bone!
He says, “I got to the point where I was doing Idol, finishing auditions, getting room service at 10pm and then working for another six or seven hours on the British stuff.
"You do that week after week, month after month and it takes its toll on you.”
Simon says that although it’s nice to be able to be on three hit TV shows, he needs to slow down.
He says, “I have got to find a better balance — being on three shows is difficult. It’s a nice position to be in, but we may have to adapt a few things.”
He added: “It’s easy to start feeling sorry for yourself, but I got lucky over the last few years — the shows have done well, it does pay well and I’m not going to start bleating on.”
So which is the show to go? We’re not sure, but Simon indicates that there will be no changes made to the X Factor, since last year’s season drew in the biggest ratings yet.
That leaves Britain’s Got Talent and American Idol. Simon still has two more years left on his contract at Idol. He did an interview back in 2007 and said, "This is the year I decided that on American Idol, once I've done 10 seasons, you're time's up. It's time then to do something new.”
So it sounds like he’s still got 2 more years in him. That means we may not be seeing Simon on Britain’s Got Talent. We don’t blame him! He needs his rest! Maybe that’s why he’s so cranky all the time!
