Ladies, this just shows how bad we can mess with a guy's head. "We fought for eight hours, I listened, I yelled…am I engaged? I have no f-cking clue."
Simon Cowell has admitted he doesn’t know if he's still engaged to supposed fiancé Mezhgan Hussainy. Lately, there's been some speculation that the pair are having problems. Leave it to shock jock Howard Stern to get to the bottom of it. Or at least try.
In an interview with Cowell, Stern asked the 51 year-old music mogul if he was still engaged. Cowell responded that he's "not sure."
Stern said: "You seem embarrassed by the women you date, and I'll tell you why, they are lovely women, but yet you won't talk about them." He continued: " I'm a married man and if someone asks me a question about her I am proud to admit I have a relationship."
And since Howard Stern does it, shouldn’t the rest of the world?
Cowell responded: " If we were having this conversation off the radio I could have a normal conversation."
Finally, Simon got really annoyed and said it "wasn’t a pretence of an engagement", speaking of it in past tense.
I now have no idea what's going on. Clearly this woman has mind f-cked him so much that he doesn’t, either.
The couple has been engaged for eighteen months, and been together a total of two. They had a whirlwind romance in which Cowell even hinted he'd like to have kids with the woman.
But lately, the two haven’t been spotted together, and in the latest issue of GQ, Cowell ruled out having kids:
"Truthfully, with the schedule, the crazy hours, I don't think it would work... With the way I live my life, I wouldn't have the patience. I'd sort of want people born at the age of 10."
If they did indeed break it off, Cowell has plenty to keep him busy with, as The X-Factor is only weeks away from debuting. Simon and Paula will be together again as judges, and you can bet there's going to be some rivalry.
"I do really like people who disagree with me," Cowell tells Redbook, about his admiration for Abdul. "Probably my best friends in the world are the people I argue with the most, because they don't always say what you want to hear."
Cowell added: "From the minute I met Paula, I was fascinated by her."
