Simon Cowell must be softening up. Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger, and host Steve Jones have all been dropped from the 'X-Factor' after only the first season, and Simon is admitting that his bragging might have gotten this show to the point it's at.

"It's only because I opened my big mouth and said we were going to get 20 million [viewers]. If I hadn't said that, everybody would be saying the show was a huge success."

You, Simon? A big mouth? Get out.
Now that Nicole Scherzinger, Paula Abdul and host Steve Jones have all been fired from The X Factor it has sent tongues wagging over who will replace them on the singing show. The replacements have to be music A-List, I mean, there’s a reason Paula, Nicole and Steve were fired, you guys.

Rumor has it that Mariah Carey, Katy Perry and even Nicki Minaj are in talks to join the judging panel of the X Factor.
Don't MISS out on Breaking News!
Simon Cowell, you thought you were good at firing? Dig this.

Madonna admitted that although her daughter, Lourdes, was set to appear in her movie, W.E., she cut her from the final edit.

“There was a scene where she played Wally as a young girl.”

Wally refers to Wallis Simpson, a female character in the movie. And also in real life. Wikipedia it. What am I, a history teacher?
Great, now who’s going to make Nicole Scherzinger squash little kids’ dreams? Oh right, Nicole’s off the show, too.

Simon Cowell must have had a really bad day on the ‘X-Factor’, because from the looks of it, he went storming around the set, saying ‘You’re fired!’ to everyone who crossed his path.

Reports surfaced this morning that Paula Abdul was out, and she responded to them in a statement.

“Yes, it’s true; I won’t be returning to The X-Factor next season.”
This morning we reported that Steve Jones had been fired as host from The X Factor, now we’re finding out that Simon Cowell is firing everyone left and right, cutting both Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul!

With Abdul and Scherzinger gone all we’ve got left is Simon and LA Reid, aka just a couple of suits talking about which singer was or wasn’t “pitchy”. I liked it better with Abdul and Scherzinger because every week was a giant cry-fest and xanax party.
This should be surprising to no one. Simon Cowell admits that he and his much younger, more attractive fiancé, Mezhgan Hussainy are “on a break” and that they will probably never get married.

Simon Cowell and his make-up artist girlfriend have been engaged for nearly two years, and the longer the clock ticked away the more we realized a wedding probably isn’t in their future.

Now, Cowell is saying that they are “taking a break.”
Simon Cowell, meet Simon Cowell. Because obviously you’re not familiar with him.

‘X-Factor honcho, Simon Cowell, is taking a long, hard look at himself and his career, and he’s discovered that he’s “a bit too cocky.”

“I think I probably came here a little too cocky, but I am cocky by nature.”

The quote was in response to the fact that the ‘X-Factor’ ratings are less than half of ‘American Idol’.
I wish they would, and just get it over with. This has been the longest foreplay ever.

After nine years of working next to each other, Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul were almost working on top of each other.

"I mean, the truth was, on the first two seasons, we couldn't travel on the same plane together. We really disliked each other that much," Cowell told Barbara Walters, in her Most Fascinating People interview. Simon said that he and Abdul butted heads due to "sexual tension…on her part."
Well, only one of them can win that ridiculous $5 million grand prize, but a 1 in 32 chance isn't bad.

Thursday night, Simon Cowell named the top 32 contestants on The X Factor. There are four groups of eight performers that will be mentored by the show's judges next week. This is where the fun begins. Paula telling everyone they're wonderful, Nicole telling everyone to be more like her, and Simon asking everyone if he has the right amount of chest hair showing.

Everyone seems to think the X-Factor is way too inspired by American Idol, but there's actually another reality show Cowell drew inspiration from while filming X-Factor: Jersey Shore.
Simon Cowell has been engaged to his make-up artist girlfriend Mezhgan Hussainy for 19 months now, so why the long-ass engagement? “I’m not going to lie, everything this year has been about working on ‘The X Factor.’” Simon revealed to Star magazine.

X-Factor has already proven to be the most over-the-top singing competition yet, with 2-hour episodes and talents that is discovered in arena style audition rounds. So with X-Factor being Simon’s life right now, everything else, including romance and a trip down the wedding aisle have taken the back seat.

“It has probably been the busiest year I’ve ever had. Making the choice to get married is something you just have to decide when the time is right,” Simon confesses.
