Shia Not Facing Amputation

There were reports circulating the net yesterday that Shia LaBeouf was going to get his finger amputated on the hand he injured during his car accident. But it turns out it was nothing but a bad rumor.

Shia's publicist confirmed that the story published by Star magazine was "completely fabricated."

Where do these tabloids come up with these stories? Losing a finger is a big deal, it's not like falsely reporting a hookup. You would think some investigation goes into these stories before they're published.
