Remember when Shia LaBeouf was a dorky little boy with a weird drool problem on “Even Stevens?” In the blink of an eye he was playing Megan Fox’s love interest, breaking his wrist, getting in bar fights, and showing off his dong in music videos and all of a sudden he’s this new Hollywood bad boy.
“I’ve made mistakes along the way, but I’m learning. I’m more comfortable with myself, and I’m calming down. I think most twenty-something men go through similar struggles and start seeing what boundaries and what rules are,” Shia tells PARADE magazine.
Watch out Colin Farrell, Gerard Butler, and Charlie Sheen; Shia LaBeouf is the new havoc wreaker/heartbreaker in Hollywood.
“It’s about pushing limits and trying to find yourself. I’ve never been able to learn from other people’s mistakes – I’m not that smart – so I usually learn by trial by fire,” Shia admits.
Shia is making his first post-Transformers appearance in the gritty guns and booze historical flick, Lawless.
Shia talks having to bulk-up to play a bootlegger in the film, “The first part of my preparation was weight gain, especially when I found out who was going to be playing my brothers. Tom Hardy was getting ready for The Dark Knight Rises, and Jason Clark was getting ready for this war film that he’s finishing up now. Everybody was getting around me, so in order for me to stand next to them…it was mandatory that I got big as well.”
