When you have to go through something as devastating as cancer, it's always comforting to have good friends by your side.

Singer Sheryl Crow was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2006 and had to undergo minimally invasive surgery as part of her treatment.

Looking back on her fight against cancer, Crow credits having good friends in her life that helped her get through it.

Sheryl Crow talked to Hollyscoop about her own battle with cancer at the Saks Fifth Avenue "Unforgettable Evening" Benefiting EIF's Women's Cancer Research Fund where Gwyneth Paltrow and Courteney Cox were being honored.

“The whole thing for me is personal because I have cancer. Some people who advocate for others are angels," Sheryl told Hollyscoop.com exclusively.

"I know with the case of Courteney and Mary [The women who is giving the award to Courteney and I] Courteney really helped her through it [cancer]. When I was diagnosed [with breast cancer], I really appreciated the people who could really helped me navigate my way through the experience.”

Her pal Courteney chimed in on the interview adding, “These women who have created this foundation are just... They have done so much for cancer research and it is unbelievable. And I am very excited to be a apart of it.”

Although the event was honoring her good pal Courteney, Sheryl admitted that she was the most excited about Beyonce. “I'm really looking forward to Beyonce, who is singing. I'm a big fan. I'm excited,” she gushed.
