Sharon Stone. biography
Born on March 10, 1958, in Meadville, Pennsylvania, actress Sharon Stone took her first step into the spotlight as a model for the Ford agency, popping up in multiple print and TV commercials around the nation throughout the late 70s.
Ten years later, Sharon slowly transitioned into the world of entertainment with unaccredited roles in such movies as Stardust Memories (1980) before landing her first substantial role as Blake Chandler in the award-winning comedy Irreconcilable Differences (1984).
Sharon continued taking advantage of her comedic side in the classic comedy Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol (1987), but officially garnished the undivided attention of Hollywood with her breakout role as the evil wife of Arnold Schwarzenegger in the box office hit Total Recall (1990).
The rising star further established herself as a versatile actress with her Golden Globe nominated performance as the gorgeous, overly tempting murderer in the hit thriller Basic Instinct (1992) opposite Michael Douglas.
Despite many critics claiming Sharon was merely using her sexuality rather than acting skills in most films, the rising actress fought back with several dramatic performances including The Quick and the Dead (1995) and Martin Scorsese’s Casino (1995) for which she earned both an Academy Award and Golden Globe nomination.
Sharon’s career later hit a speed bump when she starred in the mixed reviewed films Sphere (1998) and Gloria (1999) before blowing critics away with yet another memorable comedic performance in The Muse (1999).
Despite enduring and recovering from a brain hemorrhage in 2001, Sharon was reunited with the big screen in Cold Creek Manor (2003) alongside Dennis Quaid, Catwoman (2004) with Halle Berry, Broken Flowers (2005) opposite Bill Murray, Alpha Dog (2006) and Emilio Estevez’ Bobby (2006).
Sharon’s most recent films include, the biopic drama Lovelace (2013) with Amanda Seyfried, the comedy Fading Gigolo (2013) alongside Sofia Vergara, the dramedy Gods Behaving Badly (2013) with Christopher Walken, the biopic Papa (2013), the drama What About Love (2014), the drama Un ragazzo d’oro (2014), the comedy Army Bratz (2014) alongside Rob Schneider, and the drama Mothers Day (2014) with Susan Sarandon and Christina Ricci.
