It’s official, kids… Shakira is a mom!
Several outlets are confirming that the Columbian songstress and her soccer stud boyfriend, Gerard Piqué, welcomed a little boy on Tuesday. And we can only imagine, based on his parents' impossibly good looks, that he is the most adorable thing to ever grace the presence of humanity as a whole.
The couple confirmed the news on Shakira’s website, in one of the most thoughtful and in-depth celebrity birth statements of all time:
“We are happy to announce the birth of Milan Piqué Mebarak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerard Piqué, born Jan. 22nd at 9:36 p.m., in Barcelona, Spain.”
“The name Milan (pronounced MEE-lahn), means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Roman, eager and laborious; and in Sanskrit, unification. Just like his father, baby Milan became a member of FC Barcelona at birth.”
According to the post, little Milan arrived weighing in at 6 lbs. 6 oz. and is in good health.
Because Shakira has been super good about keeping fans in the loop about what’s going on inside her belly, the birth didn’t exactly come as a surprise.
As Hollyscoop previously reported, it was leaked by someone at the Teknon clinic where the “She Wolf” singer was scheduled to deliver, that doctors were planning to induce labor on Tuesday.
It didn’t help the secret that Piqué posted a picture on Instagram with a caption that read: “This Tuesday our first son will be born.”
Also, based on the size of her bump compared to that of her petite figure, it was obvious that the kid was ready to come out.
Congrats to the happy couple!
