Shakira Asks for Prenup

Sexy songbird Shakira, who is to wed Argentine lawyer Antonio de la Rua this fall, is making her fiancé sign a prenuptial agreement according to reports in Argentina.

A source said: "When you're very much in love you have plenty of people giving you advice, and none of them wants to see what happened to Paul McCartney happen to her."

According to the reports, Shakira is insisting he sign an agreement renouncing his right to any of her fortune if they divorce. Last we heard, her fiancé is pretty loaded himself. The couple have already been engaged for six years--that's longer than most Hollywood marriages. I guess she figures better safe than sorry.

Shakira and Antonio - the son of former Argentine president Fernando de la Rua will finally tie the knot in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in September.

You're smart. Get the prenup girl. Anyone who has the kind of money should. You have to protect yourself because sadly a lot of marriages don't make it, especially in show biz.

While it's smart to get one those things you'd think the son of the President or whoever he is would be loaded enough to at least cancel each other out. They should be used more for those Moder/Roberts type marriages, I think.

That would be sooo awkward asking for a prenup...I know in showbiz they always divorce but it's basically saying "well we'll probably break up one day "...But look at Heather Mills she rejected $44 million and asked for $107...Geez!
