Shakira visited Cartagena, Colombia along with philanthropist Howard Buffett, the mayor of the city Judith Pinedo and members of her Pies Descalzos (Barefoot) Foundation to lay the first brick of what will be its new mammoth school in an area of high vulnerability and displacement in this coastal Colombian city.
In case you're keeping count, this is the seventh school Shakira has opened in Colombia. And I felt good about myself when I handed the homeless guy by the freeway a few bucks.
The project is set to become an urban milestone, a motor of change for 1,500 boys and girls who will benefit directly and 58,000 residents of the community.
It's always great to hear about megastars taking a break from the spotlight for a minute to do good. There's no stopping Shakira. No wonder she's so loved! #simplyamazing

Does this mean that these ongoing rumors are in fact true? If it is, that's scandalousssss!
In a joint statement on Shakira’s website they said: "During our almost 11 years together we have loved each other deeply, taken care of each other and stood by one another.
"They have been the most wonderful years of our lives, and thanks to that love and the respect that we share for one another we have been an exceptional couple and partners."
Blah, blah, blah! Let’s get real--if it was so perfect then they wouldn’t have broken up! Another perfect-looking relationship down the crapper!

Bieber became the youngest person ever to win the Artist of the Year. He walked away with so many trophies, he couldn't even hold them all himself. He took home four accolades including Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist, Favorite Album and Breakthrough Artist of the Year during the ceremony at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
Accepting the Artist of the Year honor, the 16-year-old star thanked his mentor Usher and asked him to come up on stage. He said: "I really was embraced by a man named Usher Raymond. It would be only right if I invited him up here to share it with me."
Usher didn't do too bad himself, he took home Favorite Soul/R&B Male Artist and Favorite Soul/R&B Album, while rapper Eminem walked away with statuettes for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Male Artist and Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album. Katy thanked the "best f**king crowd in Europe" when she picked up the trophy. I'd be f**king excited too if I just undeservingly beat out Lady Gaga, 30 Seconds to Mars and Eminem.
Justin Bieber got some love too, he was voted the Best Push Act and the Best Male, yup, just best Male. They should have renamed it to Best Large Toddler just for him.

She'll perform her new hit "Loca" on the show. This isn't the first time she's appearing on the ABC hit show. In 2009 the Grammy-winning Colombian pop star performed Did It Again and Hips Don't Lie.
Expect to see a lot of Shakira in the upcoming weeks, not only does she have a new album to promote, Sale El Sol, but she's also in the middle of a tour. She'll be performing at Staples Center in Los Angeles this Saturday, October 23rd and Anaheim, CA on the 25th.
