Serena Williams Can't Vote, But Wants Obama

How weird is this? Serena Williams has come forward with her support for Barack Obama, even though she has no intentions of voting for him. She and her sister Venus are Jehovah’s Witnesses, a religion which forbids its members to take part in elections. So even though the superstar sisters can’t vote today, Serena’s made it clear about who she supports. And it comes as no surprise that it’s Barack Obama.

She says, "I don’t really get involved in political affairs because of the way I was brought up, and, being a Jehovah’s Witness, but it’s exciting to see someone like Barack Obama have a chance to lead one of the world’s biggest nations.It’s good. It makes my heart smile."

Maybe they’re hoping part of his message of “change” is to change Jehovah’s Witness voting policy! It seems so backwards!
