Selena Gomez Adds 'Executive Producer' to Her Resume

The 20-year-old is going to have to start wearing suits to work…

Selena Gomez is moving up in the world, fast. The Spring Breakers actress will be returning to the Disney Channel, taking the reins as executive producer on a special episode of “Wizards of Waverly Place.”

Hollyscoop has obtained a sneak peek of Selena’s interview with Ernie D on Radio Disney in which she talks about the new challenge.
"I'm not ready for it [‘Wizards’] to be over, so I just kind of want to do one more thing," she says.

The idea to reboot “Wizards” series after a four-season run came to light after a strong effort from Selena herself, thus earning her the EP credit…

“It was my idea to kind of start this, because I wanted to do it really badly,” she adds. “I want to make sure I promise the cast and the fans a really, really good hour-long event that they can enjoy and will leave them feeling good."

The reboot will be an hour-long special that takes the Russo family to Tuscany, Italy where they encounter a long lost relative. Meanwhile – per usual - Selena’s character Alex’s wizardry abilities get her into trouble…

While the actress’ on screen and singing careers seem to be pulling her in another direction, Selena wanted to give her Disney roots one last go…

“I'm working on my new record and I had great projects I was a part of this year, but 'Wizards' and Disney Channel and everything that is a part of this is my home," she says.

Selena’s Ernie D interview airs Friday, September 28, at 6 p.m. ET, 3 p.m. PT on Radio Disney.
