Scarlett made the trip through the (RED) organization, which was made popular last year with the shirts sold at the Gap. It is the initiative to help fight the disease in Africa through business and consumer power.
She says, "It was important for me to come here and see the issues we're up against firsthand. I came here with an open mind, wanting to listen, understand and learn; I leave with the overwhelming understanding that the small action of making a (RED) choice in your purchases ... has an enormous impact on the lives of people in countries like Rwanda."
We love the idea of help being brought to these countries by just a single purchase. It's important for celebrities like Scarlett to travel to these countries to continue to bring awareness to the rest of the world.
