I guess people just weren’t satisfied with the Vince Vaughn and Anne Heche remake.
Scarlett Johansson is set to take on the role of Janet Leigh when she starred in Psycho, and actually, this isn't a remake at all.
Variety reports that Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho is currently in the works, and it will star Johansson, Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren and James D’Arcy (from Madonna’s W.E.)
Hopkins is taking on the role of Alfred Hitchock, who had a fascination with both the movies and murder, and Oscar winning actress Helen Mirren will play Alma Hitchcock, the director’s wife.
Johannson is portraying the movie’s leading lady, Janet Leigh, who took the most famous shower in silvery screen history. D’Arcy will take on the role of actor Anthony Perkins, who played the creepy Norman Bates.
Sacha Gervasi, who wrote 2004’s The Terminal with Tom Hanks, will direct the movie. The movie is based on the 1990 book by Stephen Rebello. It tells the story of Hitchcock and his work with writing, casting, filming, editing and promoting Psycho.
The screenplay will be written by John J. McLaughlin, who wrote Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan.
Of course, with the announcement of Scarlett staring in this movie, the Internet is already swirling with rumors that she’ll be recreating the infamous nude shower scene. No word on whether she will, but Scarlett probably wouldn’t be shy about it.
In the midst of her nude leaked photo scandal, Scarlett said: “I know my best angles. They were sent to my husband. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s not like I was shooting a porno. Although there’s nothing wrong with that either.”
