Scarlett Johansson should be enjoying being a newlywed, but instead she’s having to worry about lawsuits.
Scarlett is featured on the cover of Cosmopolitan U.K. this month, and there’s a lengthy interview that goes along with it. Only problem is, Scarlett claims she never spoke to anyone at the magazine, which would make the interview completely made-up!
Excerpts from the article include: “
Ryan Reynolds has a very romantic side. We both enjoy remembering little things that make us happy – for me, that’s what romance is all about. My mom is a romantic person and I think I inherited it from her. She’s very thoughtful and taught me there are many different ways you can be romantic.”
“This is a very beautiful time for me. Getting married is a huge moment in anyone’s life, and the few months leading up to it were a little crazy. But Ryan and I are in love, and we’re enjoying evolving our relationship together. I feel that my life and my work are heading in the right direction.”
Scarlett’s publicist is lashing out at the mag, threatening to sue them. In a statement, her rep said, “(The article is an) obvious attempt… to gain monetarily by misinforming their readers. (Johansson) has at no point granted U.K. Cosmopolitan an interview, and she has never discussed her personal relationships with the publication.”
That’s pretty gutsy for Cosmo U.K. to do! It’s not like it’s a small magazine or anything! They sell hundreds of thousands of copies!
UPDATE: UK Cosmopolitan Magazine just released the following statement to Hollyscoop.com:
"UK Cosmopolitan printed an interview with Scarlett Johansson that included quotes from an agency journalist regarding the actress's marriage. We ran these quotes in good faith with the understanding that the interview was carried out with the approval of Ms. Johansson and her publicist. UK Cosmopolitan is taking the complaints by Ms. Johansson’s publicist seriously and is investigating the matter further.”
