People has a different take on the situation, claiming Ryan was ultimately the one who decided it wasn’t worth it.
Their source says Reynolds tried to fix their relationship, which was almost always a long-distance one. "At first it was ... let's fix this," the source says. "And then it got to the point where it was just, if it's not working, it's not working. He's an adult, and he finally just said they should stop."
The insider says age may have played a part in their split too—he’s 34 and she’s 26. "She's young, and that played into how she's able to deal with things," the source says.
"They're doing it this way because there's no drama, there's no cheating, there's no nothing. These are just two people who love each other who are not going to be together anymore."
The source says Ryan is letting Scarlett file for divorce first (how kind of him). "Ultimately, this is the best thing to keep both of them happy and healthy in the long run," the insider says. "But yeah, he's sad. They both are."
So is Ryan crying straight into the arms of Blake Lively like is being reported? That would be a no. "They worked together and got along really well," a source says of the two. "But there's not more to it."
As for Scarlett, a source tells NY Daily News she’s been in therapy for a couple months, and it didn’t help anything with the marriage.
She and Ryan even spent Thanksgiving with her family and “tried to hold it together” but the damage was already done.
Sad. How anyone could fall out of love with Ryan Reynolds is beyond me. Then again, she’s Scarlett Johansson and could get any guy she wants. I’m picturing her getting re-married to some older director for some reason. Like a Lost in Translation type of guy.
Wishing them both luck in singledom!
